ALIRA – Romania's newest wine brand

ALIRA-Merlot 2009, Romania's newest wine has been launched last Friday at the Aliman Wineyard in the Southestern county of Constanta. WineRo, the producer and the importer of ENIRA brand from Bulgaria said the wine would be available on the Romanian market starting this November in a limited edition of 45,000 bottles.

The creator of Alira Merlor 2009, the oenologist Mark Dworkin said Alira had pesonality, fullbody, fruity and the most important "is well-balanced, friendly, easy to drink, a wine tailored for the consumer". He said Alira would be sold at a price to be found for the entry premium level wines.

WineRo have invested 2.5 million euros to buy 80 hectares in Aliman and Rasova in the southeastern county of Constanta and relatively near the banks of the Danube River. The company also managed to attract EU funds of two million euros to co-finance the building of a cellar. The totall ammount of the investment is 4.7 million euros.
